Analyze, design, develop, test
apps. in (A) Microsoft.Net tech., Oracle / SQL Server / Sybase suites,
Java suite, Weblogic, Apache, COBOL; (B) Documentum, ATG Dynamo,
Weblogic, Java / Oracle Suites and Internet security / e-commerce
analysis; (C) Design, administrator and maintain databases in Sybase /
SQL Server & Oracle.
Database
Administrator (Level 1) (CA)
Install and maintain DBMS and
RDBMS in various OS; Install and configure Names Server and Web Server;
Implement SQL*Net v2/Net8 in multi threaded (MTS) and dedicated server
configurations; Perform physical and logical data modeling and database
design using appropriate tools; Manage tablespaces, control files, log
files, data files, archived log files and rollback segments; Take
regular backups of the database; Recover the database from media failure
and other corruption problems whenever necessary; Use import tool to
recover dropped database objects whenever appropriate; Implement
Database User Security by creating profiles and roles, creating
synonyms, grant roles/privileges to users; Perform Database Tuning
starting with tuning of the application, tuning of memory, detecting and
resolving latches/locks; Also check for I/O contention and take steps to
resolve it, if necessary; Perform database migration; Make migration
plans prior to the actual migration and perform pre and post migration
testing to verify that the migration was successful and identify
problems, if any; Use Shell scripts for scheduling cron Jobs; Develop
stored procedures, database triggers to enforce complex business rules;
Use Oracle supplied packages (whenever appropriate) in coding such
procedures and triggers; End user interaction to co-ordinate physical
changes to database code, test and implement physical database, design
physical and logical databases. Also train end users, answer user
questions; Review description of changes to database, establish physical
database parameters and direct software developers to code descriptions,
calculate optimum values for database parameters; Utilize database
middle ware to connect databases for data migration, determine costs to
make changes to databases, etc. Technical environments involved include
Oracle RDBMS 7.9i, Oracle Apps. 11i upgrade, cloning & migration, RMAN,
Sun Solaris, Unix and related tools.
Software
Engineers (Cary, NC)
Design, develop, test apps. in
(1) J2EE, Versata Logic Suite, workflow engine in DB2 & Websphere on
Unix from SAP and other legacy apps. migration; (2) Oracle / Apps. DBA
11i & rel. tools, RMAN, SQL Server Admin., Clarify, Oracle Financial
Apps., Shell Scripts, Silverstream, Weblogic, Apache, in various OS.
Travel to Client Sites reqd. Prevailing wege.
